WhatsApp, Meta's messaging app with more than 2,000 million users worldwide, will stop working on some cell phone models from August 2024. The move is due to a new update affecting devices with versions of the operating system lower than iOS 12. Android 4.1.

The decision to end support for these models is not arbitrary. With each update, Meta strives to improve security, add new functionality, and fix WhatsApp bugs.

Go to the app on your phone.
Access the options menu, commonly represented by the three dots in the upper-right corner, and select “Settings.”
In the Settings menu, select “Chats”.
Select “Chat Backup”.
Configure the Google Drive account where you want to store the backup. Make sure you have enough space in your Google Account.
If iPhone, go to iCloud to save the backup. Check| iCloud is activated on your device and you have enough storage space.
