San Diego modern metal band CASCADE EFFECT has signed an exclusive worldwide deal with Eclipse Records, marking a significant step in the group’s expansion following its 2024 victory at Wacken Metal Battle USA. The agreement comes as the five-member band prepares to release its new full-length album, The Weight of Nothingness, on January 8, 2027.

The signing gives CASCADE EFFECT a global label platform as the group seeks to build on several years of live performances and development within the heavy music scene. The upcoming 13-track record combines deathcore, groove metal, melodic death metal, progressive elements and nu metal while addressing themes including mortality, isolation, fear and the search for meaning.

CASCADE EFFECT Moves to Global Label Partnership

CASCADE EFFECT emerged from San Diego with an approach centered on contrasting heavy instrumentation with melodic elements. The band’s name reflects its philosophy that a single event can trigger a chain reaction that grows in scale and influence over time.

The group gained wider industry attention after winning Wacken Metal Battle USA in 2024. Its new partnership with Eclipse Records is expected to provide broader international support as CASCADE EFFECT moves toward the January release of its latest project.

Vocalist Dustin Keimig said the signing represents an important milestone after years of involvement in the metal community.

“We’re absolutely stoked to be signing with Eclipse” says vocalist Dustin Keimig, “I have been in bands for a really long time, and I have seen Eclipse Records’ name around the Metal scene all throughout my musical career. I’m very proud to take Cascade Effect to the next level with a label that has such great history and experience.”

Guitarist Alec Peterson also described the agreement as a major development for the band after years spent establishing its presence through live performances.

“Signing with Eclipse feels like a huge turning point for Cascade Effect. We’ve spent years grinding in clubs, hauling gear, and building this band from the ground up, so joining a label that genuinely believes in our vision is incredibly exciting. What really stood out to us about Eclipse was how much they make artists feel like part of a team instead of just another name on a roster. Once our conversations started, it immediately felt less like a business deal and more like joining a family of people who genuinely love heavy music as much as we do!”

New Album ‘The Weight of Nothingness’ Arrives January 8

CASCADE EFFECT recently completed production on The Weight of Nothingness, a 13-song album designed to establish the band’s full-length presence in the contemporary metal market.

The record explores existential and psychological subjects, including mortality, regret, fear, isolation and questions surrounding human existence. Musically, the band pairs low-tuned grooves and aggressive passages with melodic hooks and atmospheric sections.

Among the featured songs is “Rogue Wave,” which addresses the fleeting nature of time while also using the rise of artificial intelligence as a metaphor for technology potentially displacing genuine human connection. “My Devil’s Hour” examines isolation and intrusive thoughts during late-night periods of loneliness.

The closing title track, “The Weight of Nothingness,” takes an existential approach to mortality, focusing on the value of existence rather than relying on comforting ideas about an afterlife.

Production involved several established figures in heavy music. Matthew Denis, whose credits include work with Nothing More, Greywind and Diamante, engineered and mixed the album at Skylit Sound and Total Access. Miro Kiiski, known for work with Hypocrisy, PAIN and Beast in Black, handled mastering at Miro Mastering. Keimig also created the album’s cover artwork.

Thirteen Tracks Set for Worldwide Release

The album opens with “Rogue Wave,” followed by “2:59,” “My Devil’s Hour,” “Fear Romancer,” “Suffering in Silence,” “Red Sky in the Morning” and “Squall.” The second half includes “We Don’t Need Eyes,” “VOID,” “Embodied,” “Terminal Variance,” “God Particle” and the title track.

CASCADE EFFECT’s sound has drawn comparisons with established heavy acts including Slipknot, Gojira, Lamb of God, Parkway Drive, Machine Head and Killswitch Engage, while the band has sought to develop its own combination of aggressive and melodic influences.

With the Eclipse Records agreement in place and The Weight of Nothingness scheduled for worldwide release on January 8, 2027, CASCADE EFFECT is entering a new phase aimed at expanding its reach beyond its San Diego roots and establishing a larger presence in the international modern metal market.
