Parasports games provide space for inclusion and equality

The second regional aerobics games kicked off this morning at the Delmi Micro Stadium, with delegations from Jujuy, Tucumán, Santiago del Estero, Chaco and La Rioja arriving in Salta. Football, goal football, blind football, wheelchair basketball, athletics and swimming will be the focus of the competition.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Sports, Romina Arroyo, welcomed 300 people with disabilities, leaders and authorities who will be in Salta until Sunday in the second edition of these games created with the aim of providing a space for inclusion and equal opportunities. The Director of Modified Sports and Sports Promotion for the Secretary of the Nation, Alejandro Perez, also arrived at the launch event.

The Salta official thanked the work in cooperation with the Catholic University of Salta in the organization of the Games “Where in these four days we seek to support inclusion policies and accompany them with the administration, ensuring accessibility, as Governor Gustavo Sainz asks us.” Romina Arroyo emphasized that through the Regional Sports District, a comprehensive policy of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports is being implemented “to promote the development of inclusive and adaptive sports within the framework of the values ​​of solidarity, respect, team spirit and perseverance, and to develop actions for the personal and collective growth of persons with disabilities.”


For his part, the disability coordinator in the General Secretariat of Sports, Omar Cruz, confirmed that “the organization worked in an integrated manner with public and private institutions to enable the sports participation of people with disabilities across different disciplines.”

The opening ceremony was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports Federico Abboud, and the President of the Catholic University of Salta, Rodolfo Gallo Cornego. Physical Education Profession Director, Ocasal, Carlos Zuccotti; The National Coordinator of EDAS Schools in NOA, Diego Ledesma and Head of Social and Inclusive Approach to Disability, Maria Veronica de Lilla.


Activities start from Thursday to Sunday 4 September according to the following schedule:

Thursday, September 1 (from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
Jules Paul and Boccia at Dilmy Micro Stadium and the Sports Trust
Friday, September 2 (from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
Blind football and wheelchair basketball at Micro-Stadium Delmi and at the Sports Secretariat from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Saturday 3rd September (8am to 6pm)
Athletics honestly sports
Sunday, September 4 (8 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
Swimming in the facilities of Ocasal, Campos Castanares
