What protein can you take to get bigger and stronger muscles?

In this sense, research conducted by Stanford University has identified the protein 15-PGDH as the key to getting bigger and stronger muscles. According to the scientists, this protein could be essential in treating decreased muscle strength and paralysis resulting from trauma, genetic neuromuscular diseases or premature aging.

To reach these results, they used a mouse model, in which they injected a molecule that blocks 15-PGDH into older mice and simulated sciatic nerve injury. They will then show that by blocking this protein, the mice can repair broken nerve connections and muscle fibers, restoring strength and muscle mass.

Melissa Norton, the study’s senior author, says that 15-PGDH accumulates with age and promotes muscle atrophy. However, inhibiting this protein may be a therapeutic strategy to stimulate prostaglandin E2, restore neuromuscular communication, and enhance force recovery after denervation.

Why is it important to strengthen your muscles?

According to specialized portals, lean muscle mass decreases with age and not replacing it properly can lead to an increase in body fat. In addition, increasing and strengthening muscle mass reduces the likelihood of joint injuries, improves balance, and reduces the risk of falling. Having bigger and stronger muscles also contributes to improving overall health and mood.
