New York (CNN) – Mackenzie ScottD., one of the richest women in the world, and her husband, Dan Jewett, have donated $2.74 billion to organizations focused on the arts and the fight against racial discrimination.

Her divorce separation agreement with her ex-husband CEO Amazon (AMZN) Jeff Bezos made Scott one of the richest people in the world. She and Bezos have been married for 25 years.

At $193.5 billion, Bezos is currently the richest person in the world, and MacKenzie Scott’s fortune is estimated at $59 billion. According to Forbes magazine. Scott married Jewett in March.

In May 2019, shortly before his divorce from Bezos, Scott joined The Giving Pledge, a campaign created by Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and Melinda Gates that encourages the very wealthy to contribute the bulk of his fortune to charitable causes.

Jewett also became committed to the cause after marrying Mackenzie Scott. “It is strange that I write a letter indicating that I plan to give away most of my wealth during my lifetime, because I have never tried to accumulate the wealth necessary to feel that saying such a thing would have special meaning,” he said in organization website.

Scott’s net worth has skyrocketed as Amazon shares have soared during the pandemic. In July 2020, he announced that he had given $1.7 billion of his fortune to 116 organizations in “areas of need,” including racial equality, LGBTQ equality, functional democracy and climate change. And in December, Scott announced he had donated another $4.2 billion to 384 organizations.

With this latest donation, a total of $8.5 billion in donations has been added in less than a year.

at Posted in your blog McKenzie Scott stated that he has donated 286 organizations recently, which are “organizations of great influence in groups and communities that have historically been underfunded and neglected.”

The list includes the Fund for Racial Equality in Journalism (REJ), the Asian American Federation (AAF), the Emerging LGBTQ Leaders Fund for Color, and the Equity Project. National.

In a post, Mackenzie Scott said she wanted to “downplay the distinct voices” and “focus” on others. “People who are fighting inequality deserve a central place in the stories about the change they are making,” he said. “I, Dan, are a constellation of researchers, administrators, and consultants — all trying to let go of a fortune made possible by systems that needed to change.”
