Independiente del Valle suffered a third straight defeat in the Copa Libertadores after losing 2-1 to Palmeiras at Allianz Parque in the group stage.

The first half between the Brazilians and Ecuador did not disappoint, and as expected in the lead, it was a back-and-forth game with both teams having chances to score.

Liga Pro, 'in crisis': Independiente del Valle's 5 complaints against the organizer of the national competition

A minute into the fight, the first dangerous move came. Peder Caicedo came down the left wing and took a strong right-footed shot that was saved by goalkeeper Weverton.

Then, a fear will come to those who have drawn. On a free kick, the visitors lost their marks and a Verdeao defender rose, headed in and the ball ended up in the back of the net. However, the goal was disallowed for offside.

How much will Independiente del Valle get for Justin Lerma? '10 million euros for transfer! Not even close,' says Michael Teller

Little by little Independiente started to settle down the pitch and started to control the ball. After 15 minutes, the black and blue will be worried again. Renato Ibarra assisted on the flank, cutting towards the middle and kicking from the right, but again the Brazilian goalkeeper saved without any problems.

Stopped balls started to be a major problem in the line-up defence. On a corner kick, Zé Rafael rises and evades his rivals mark, but he fails to connect properly with his header and it goes over the goal which is defended by Guido Villar.

From there, the local team grew in performance and they were able to punish. Again with a set piece. Colombian Richard Rios took responsibility for a far-out free kick, but to the surprise of many, he did well to open the scoring in the 36' after a weak response from Villar.

The bad news doesn't end there. After Anthony Landasuri's volley in the area, the referee awarded a penalty foul. The captain, Gustavo Gomez, took over and he never failed to extend the local advantage.

In the second half, Independiente tried to be sharp. 3 minutes into extra time, Ladaro Díaz shot in from the right. Weverton couldn't control and the Hoyos scored. However, the goal was not included in the score as it was disallowed for offside.

In the 58', once again, Independiente missed the mark with a free kick. The game ended with a goal by Gustavo Gomez, but the linesman was right and voided the score due to an illegal position.

The Argentine striker's entry into the squad for Chilo-Zijon gave him new attacking energy and thanks to him they scored a goal. After some great play down the right flank from the Brazilians, the attacker outwitted two defenders and scored at the near post, leaving Rio Cancerbero completely bewildered.

Independiente continued to attack until the final minutes, but the tie was never to come, ending the match 2-1 in favor of the locals.

The result drops the Stripes to third in Group F and complicates their chances of reaching the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores without a date.

Constantly wanting to cross the circuit, the A great murderer They will have to wait until the clash between Uruguay's San Lorenzo and Liverpool ends in a draw, then, on the last day, they can win with a little help from Palmeiras and progress to the next stage. (D)
