A Caracas court issued an arrest warrant against Jose Youssef Boutros, the owner of Café Caldi

Boutros' sophisticated project used the famous Café Caldi shops as a facade. According to court filings, he promised his victims 20% interest per month on investments they allegedly invested in buying goods and services. A network of fraud led by the accused implicated judges, prosecutors and officials of the Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (CICPC), who made it easy for Boutros to avoid public ministry investigations. However, this network of accomplices could not prevent justice from finally being served.

According to estimates by the Public Ministry, the property damage in this case is 6 million USD, which includes stolen capital, unpaid interest and real estate acquired without its rightful owner and/or ownership.
