Yordon Alvarez scores for Houston to reach 40 – swing complete

Yordon Alvarez hit third in the lineup and was designated hitter for the Houston Astros in Game 4 of the World Series. The Las Dunas player picked up his first win of the tournament at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

With two outs in the top of the first inning, the 25-year-old slugger hit a 96 mph hit off Phillies starter Aaron Nola. Yordon hit a line drive to center field.

Thus, the Cuban reached 40 wins in his postseason career (2019, 2021 and 2022).

Alvarez He is the 4th player born in Cuba to achieve this goal. Before this, Tony Perez (41), Yasiel Puig (51) and Yuli Curiel (84) did it. The latter will also feature in this Wednesday’s game.

For the Astros, Yordon is 8th with 40 hits. He is now alone in the franchise’s all-time spot after breaking a tie for 39th with Craig Biggio.
