Chairman of the Strategic Development and Scientific Publication Committee at the Near Universe Foundation (FAU)

Chairman of the Committees for Scientific Publication and Aviation and Space Talents, at the Ibero-American College of Science and Technology. (ICTC)

The title of the article is interesting, and it is a common dream for many of us who want to see it come true.

We are in a world marked by many daily technological changes, and large amounts of information, mixed with “fake news”, which must be analyzed and discarded no matter how compelling it seems to us.

Identify the talent lost during this pandemic spread across the country and beyond its borders; In order to determine a “Mexican Space Talent Map”. This was precisely one of the main objectives of the FAU’s First National Conference “Opportunities and Strengths of Mexican Youth in the Space Sector” and of course, it is not unreasonable that the conference focuses on the national youth segment.

Besides the important outcomes identified with this conference, FAU and its directors are acutely aware that this is the time to promote disruptive and innovative ideas.

There is no doubt that the time has come and the question that arises is related to the various opportunities niches in the space sector, but certainly the great challenge is the need to design and build a Mexican spacecraft, in the aviation sector there are important developments in the design and manufacture of a national aircraft, but in the space sector, how do we begin? Who do we cooperate with? How do we distribute the work? Who should be the experts, at what stages, stages, systems and subsystems? FAU and its strategic allies in the space sector will provide what to talk about in these matters in the following years and decades.

It is a very sensitive issue because in our emerging space sector and ecosystem, diagnoses, studies and plans have been carried out without an effective engagement in the implementation phase. FAU is already working on designing a file National Space Innovation Systemwhose main recipient is the Mexican Space Agency (AEM), for whose implementation it will be necessary to provide the necessary resources (pressure resources and financial incentives), together with all the institutions involved, and where students, researchers and academics, entrepreneurs and graduates of any profession can be talented In their respective fields participating in this Mexican project 100%, together with aerospace groups, companies and government institutions, synchronizing the engines of innovation, development and research, but above all solving the initial problem a question for all this .. What place in the national territory meets the necessary conditions (including investment) for a successful launch?

There are many questions and unknowns to clarify, but everything must be under a steady, transparent, concrete and specific working rhythm: a cell-like organization, an organized living entity, where each part has a function and performs its work, feeding into the whole simultaneously. With the vision of the strategic development of the national and regional space sector, FAU performs its function of organized civil society, articulating actors and projects in the sector towards national development needs. Special mention deserves the need for the National Space Development Act (LNDE) that gives legal certainty to both national and foreign investors, promotes sustainable space activities as well as the peaceful use of space and includes Mexico in global trends in space exploration. NASA’s Artemis program is one of them.

By approaching the Universe Foundation and the Ibero-American College of Science and Technology, the project was launched “Mexican Space Talent Map”As part of actions drawn from the FAU’s First National Conference, “Opportunities and Strengths of Mexican Youth in the Aerospace Sector”.

Space missions currently promoted by the FAU, such as Tampanamak FAU’s first missionarouse the interest of students, researchers, businessmen and academics.

Do you want to be part of the national space innovation system, and contribute to putting Mexico in space?

From your personal area of professional and/or academic development, you can add to this important strategic development objective and make history with FAU.
