Minciencias opens call for research on environmental issues – Science – Life

The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation announced the opening of two new calls that are part of the 2021-2022 Biennial Plan ‘Science For All’, which aim to support the social and economic reactivation of all the country’s territories.

These are the calls for Strengthening the Territorial System of CTel for $ 68,398 million; and Science, Technology and Innovation of the Environment and Sustainable Development for $ 246,841 million. Both aimed at governments, mayors, universities, research and development centers and institutes, innovation centers, public and private, national and international entities and other entities of the national CTeI system.

“As President Iván Duque promised, we are fulfilling Colombians with two new calls designed to transform territories through science, technology and innovation, addressing their problems, needs and opportunities. These calls, which are added to the four that we had announced in July of this year, have resources in the order of 315,239 million pesos “, said the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Titus Joseph Crissien.

Environmental Science, Technology and Innovation

With that of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Environment and Sustainable Development, led in association with the Ministry of the Environment, it is expected, through research, development and innovation projects of departmental, regional and national scope, to promote the sustainable use of natural resources that contribute to the development of the country; Encourage the bioeconomy in the territories; and generate strategies energy transition and circular economy.

“This is excellent news for all regions of Colombia. We celebrated
that for the first time a call like this is opened, in favor of the environment
environment. It is also the first time that royalty resources go
aimed at strengthening the science, technology and innovation of this
sector. Without a doubt, this is a sample of the National Government’s commitment to
the country’s natural resources ”, assured the Minister of Environment and Development
Sustainable, Carlos Eduardo Correa.

The call closes on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 4:00 pm
for proposals of departmental scope and, on October 8, 2021 at
4:00 pm for proposals of regional and national scope. Interested parties can consult the conditions in the Minciencias page.

Strengthening the Territorial System of CTel

The other call launched by the Ministry of Sciences is the one for Strengthening the Territorial System of CTeI. With it, they hope to strengthen the capacities for the management of Science, Technology and Innovation in the territories; promote the articulation of actors and sectors for the development of public policy of STeI; and contribute to closing gaps on this issue between the regions.
