Neighbors took up the fight against the subdivision of a space in Urquiza Park – Paraná

The Neighborhood Citizen Assembly, together with environmental organizations, concentrated this Saturday in the area of ​​Patito Siriri to express their concern about the sale of a space bordering the Patito Siriri promenade that integrates the Urquiza Park and that is considered part of it by the Paraná, but that is private.

The land is located between Alberti and De La Torre and Vera streets. It was always a place of recreation, with one of the best views of the city, where locals and tourists choose it to take postcard photos and keep them as souvenirs.

“A year passed since we found out that this space in Urquiza Park was going to be subdivided, we don’t know under what conditions because we never saw any paper. We went to the government, we made a march, and now we find that even a pillar did, with which, they have defined without the city government or that the legislators take action on the matter, “he said. And he continued: “Throughout the year, the residents of the city tried to approach the Deliberative Council and the mayor so that this could be resolved in favor of all of us, because this is part of our life, of the citizens of Paraná.”

It was in this sense that Glausser announced: “Again, we started this fight, which will surely be a long one, but in which we are going to try that those who are ruling understand that this space belongs to nature and to all of us.”

For her part, a neighbor of the Urquiza Park, Laura Vázquez, argued: “This fight has more than 30 years, that is to say that the residents of the block, since this was a mountain, we were seeing the process by which they were granting ordinances To authorize residential use, the works were carried out, and it is not that we Paraná were not worried or warned about what was happening. However, there was never a reply to our notes, with the exception of two councilors who in the ’90s approached and tried to find a solution ”.

“The interests that move behind these lots are not only of a holder who appears saying ‘I am the owner of this’ because otherwise they would not have facilitated all the procedures until they get to enable a land that should be authorized for residential use,” he warned respect.
