The PhD in Political Science from the Autonomous University of Zacatecas is a program committed to the training of social researchers specialized in the field of political science, the aim of which is to contribute to the training of trained researchers in the original production of knowledge, to participate in the promotion of graduate studies and, in general, to perform their functions at the level of excellence.

Given the criteria of quality, importance, and impact on high-level human resource training, academic productivity, and collaboration with other sectors of society, the postgraduate course is recognized by the National Postgraduate System (formerly PNPC) of the National Science and Technology Council (CONASET) at a standardized level. The study plan revolves around activities aimed at comprehensive training in the field of research.
