The Faculty of Educational Sciences of the University of Cádiz organized a Science Day for schoolchildren from Carmelitas de San Fernando School, in the context of the Day of Women and Girls in Science. This initiative, developed in the “INFACIENCIA” project, coordinated by Noemi Serrano, from the Department of Education, and Estibalez Aragon, psychology teacher, seeks to promote interest in science in boys and girls under 6 years of age, highlighting that scientific talent transcends gender.

During the day, approximately 60 Carmelitas students participated in various activities designed to foster scientific interest, such as theater performances, motor skill exercises and experiment tables. These activities were implemented in various places in the college, with the aim of encouraging scientific curiosity from an early age and supporting co-educational education.

The “Infaciencia” project, which has financial support from the Ministry of Equality, the Women’s Institute and the Department of Educational Development and Vocational Training of the Government of Andalusia, is an initiative of the University of Córdoba that brings together the educational community of several Spanish universities, including Cádiz, Córdoba, Basque Country and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Its purpose is to encourage scientific careers among early childhood and special education students, and to engage teachers, students, boys and girls, families, and educational professionals in a collaborative effort to highlight ability and interest in science without gender discrimination.
