Pixar’s new product “Lightyear” from the Toy Story series provoked various reviews and reactions among users because the film has an LGBTTIQ + themed display, which polarized public opinion. Various CountriesMostly Muslims, the film was canceled, prompting producer Galen Sussman to call back the countries that censored the film.

This is because the movie “Light Year” features a scene of two women kissing.

“They warned it could happen. But, to put it mildly, the film we wanted was not going to trade only to a few countries with reactionary perspectives,” Sussman said.

“We made our film and they didn’t want to see it. No problem, ” he said.

The producer revealed that the discussion around the film seemed absurd to him because Disney has put shocking scenes for children in his films, in the case of Bambi, the mother dying.

“Personally my kids, when they were little I didn’t like watching movies where mom died. Everyone has an idea that it’s acceptable to be seen as a family. “

The reason for the controversy in Peru

After receiving rave reviews, a number of major theaters in Peru on Saturday withdrew a warning that included a summary of Disney’s animated film “Lightyear”, which was released in Peruvian theaters on Friday, June 17.

CinePlanet, a chain of theaters in Peru and Chile, owned by the Peruvian company Intercorp. During the premiere, he placed a warning on the abbreviation “Lightyear” next to theaters, and on the Peruvian People’s website, the film was described as “containing sexually explicit scenes”.

The controversy has spread on social networking sites and today it has withdrawn that warning and regretted its mistake through its official Twitter account.

“This fact does not represent our values and culture of diversity, equity and content, which we promote as a company, which is why we withdrew as soon as we recognized this message,” CinePlanet tweeted.

The network did not place a warning on its website or in theaters for the Chilean people. Ciniplanet did not explain why it did in Peru, not in Chile.

“Lightyear” sparked controversy in 13 countries and other countries, including the Palestinian Territories, where actor Chris Evans was banned from filming “Toy Story”, a film that voiced the character that promotes astronaut Buzz Lightyear.
