Ancelotti: “What happened to Luka (Modric) hurts us”, will you miss the Copa del Rey final?
Carlo Ancelotti says Modric suffered an injury against Girona and is a doubt for the Copa del Rey final against Osasuna (April 6). Real Madrid host Manchester City on April 9 for the Champions League.
“After tests carried out by the Real Madrid medical services, our player Luka Modric was diagnosed with an injury to the back of his left leg’s thigh. Pending evolution”, reads the White Club’s official statement.
The Croatian’s absence is confirmed for the matches against Almeria and Real Sociedad, and it is almost impossible for him to arrive in time for the cup final against Osasuna. Everything depends on its evolution in the coming days.
Modric went off injured in the game against Girona, which ended in a 4-2 defeat for the Whites.
Carlo Ancelotti confirmed this morning that he does not know if the Croatian will be available in time for the semi-final against City.
“Luka (Modric) is injured and we don’t know when he will be back. Let’s see if he’s ready for the Copa del Rey…” announced the Italian.
Ancelotti also opined that the Croatian is undeniable.
“It cannot be changed. It is very important. Ceballos is a very similar player. Also Camavinga and Valverde”, concluded the Real Madrid coach.
