RAGA Announces Nearly Million in Political Spending Across 13 States

The Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) has announced nearly $7 million in political spending across 13 states as it moves into the final stretch of the 2026 election campaign. The investment will fund television and digital advertising aimed at defending Republican-held attorney general offices and supporting Republican candidates seeking to gain seats currently held by Democrats.

The August spending represents the first phase of RAGA’s fall campaign and comes as attorney general races attract increased political attention ahead of the November elections.

RAGA Targets Attorney General Races in 13 States

RAGA said the spending will support Republican attorneys general in Iowa, Kansas, Georgia, Ohio, Florida and Texas. Resources will also go toward Republican attorney general nominees in Arizona, Colorado, Minnesota, Michigan, Nevada, New York and Wisconsin.

The organization said its advertising purchases include spending of at least six figures in each of the 13 targeted races. According to RAGA, there are 30 attorney general contests nationwide during the current election cycle.

The strategy indicates that the organization intends to compete across a broad electoral map, combining efforts to protect Republican-held offices with campaigns targeting positions currently controlled by Democrats.

“The contrast could not be clearer: credentialed Republicans versus crazy Democrats. RAGA is fortunate to have exceptional candidates in every race this fall, a severe contrast with crazy Democrats who coddle career criminals and support no cash bail,” said RAGA Executive Director Adam Piper.

The comments reflect RAGA’s partisan campaign position and its effort to place public safety, crime and criminal justice policies at the center of its election messaging.

Organization Moves Into Final 70 Days of Campaign

RAGA said it is entering the final 70 days of the campaign in what it considers a strong financial position, allowing the organization to direct resources toward several competitive races simultaneously.

The association described approximately a dozen contests as being within the margin of error, making advertising, voter outreach and campaign messaging potentially important during the closing weeks before Election Day.

“We have great problems in this political environment with a dozen races within the margin of error and a better message. RAGA is going on offense now with better candidates, better messaging, and the resources to remind voters early and often that fighting fraud and all forms of crime is on the ballot this November,” continued Piper.

Attorney general elections can have implications beyond state politics. State attorneys general frequently oversee matters involving consumer protection, fraud enforcement and antitrust law, while also participating in litigation involving federal policies and major businesses.

The size and timing of RAGA’s initial investment underscore the importance political organizations are placing on these statewide offices during the 2026 election cycle.

RAGA Expects Record Political Spending in 2026

RAGA said its total political expenditures this year are expected to exceed those of any previous year in the organization’s 27-year history. The nearly $7 million announced for August represents an initial commitment rather than its entire election-cycle spending.

“RAGA will spend more this year politically than in any year in its 27-year history, and the stakes have never been higher,” said Piper. “Unfortunately, public safety is just one election away from extinction when you look at criminal coddling Democrats and their far-left political agenda. This November, voters must choose public safety over Democrats who enable fraud and early release for those who terrorize life, liberty, and property.”

Those statements represent RAGA’s political characterization of Democratic candidates and policies as the Republican organization seeks to make public safety a central component of its campaign.

With 30 attorney general races taking place nationally, the initial 13-state advertising push provides an early indication of where RAGA plans to concentrate significant resources. The organization’s August investment marks the beginning of a broader fall campaign as political groups compete for control of influential state legal offices ahead of the November elections.
