How we can see how much iCloud storage consumes each member of our family

ICloud storage is something that we can share with up to 6 members of our family. It is a system that allows us all to have space in the cloud for different uses for a single payment. Within this configuration, being able to know how much space each member of the family occupies is important on more than one occasion. Let’s see how to do it.

Shared space yes, but in the right measure

Both we, as family organizers, and anyone who is part of it, can see how much space each member of the family occupies in iCloud. It is not something that we should monitor second by second far from it, but it is something to keep in mind especially if there are children in the family. Why? Because sometimes a gigantic download ends up on the desktop, for example, and it takes up more than it should.

Given this scenario, it is good to know how we can see the quota of space that each Apple ID uses. This is something we can do both from our Mac, our iPhone or iPad. In the case of the last two, the steps are the following:

1. We open the app Settings on our iPhone or iPad.
2. We touch our name at the top.
3. We played on iCloud.
4. We came in Manage storage.
5. We touch Family use.

Here we will see a breakdown of the different sizes occupied by each family member with whom we share the space. On the Mac, the steps to view this information are similar:

1. In the Apple menu () we choose System preferences.
2. We came in Apple ID.
3. We touch Manage at the bottom right of the window.
4. We select Family in the left sidebar.

As before, we will see a list of the space occupied by each person. One information useful to help us discover some irregularities that can occur or simply decide that we want to hire a larger storage space.

It is clear that with the amount of files, photos, backups, etc., that we store, space, whether in the cloud or on a device, is an increasingly important asset. In this sense, being able to have a clear image of what and who occupies said space is, without a doubt, relevant.
