During the 'D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event' event on August 15, series creator Matt Groening addressed this curious predictability of the series in front of an audience full of fans and important Disney figures.

During his speech, Groening explained part of the creative process behind the episodes of the popular animated series. “We've done so many comedies over so many seasons that eventually we're going to guess something. We always write our comedies as ridiculous as possible, but that's the way the world is now,” Groening said. The creator of The Simpsons and Futurama also aims to reduce the animosity the predictions are getting online.. “Everything seems to be coming true, but no, it's not on purpose, stop writing nasty things about me on Twitter, will you? Groening handled one of the audience's questions with humorThose who persist in understanding whether there is some sort of crystal ball behind each chapter. One of the questions asked during the event was precisely whether Groening could offer a new prediction, to which he jokingly replied: “Next Lottery Numbers…”Makes you laugh.
