Cristina Saralegui breaks her silence about her departure from Univision and describes how they told her and what she said after they fired her.

Popular TV host Cristina Saralegui has broken her silence on her departure from Univisión, explaining that she feels very bad about it. Below are more details on what Saralegui said.

Saralegui has been retired from television for 14 years, but was in an interview with communicator Dan Francisco where he described what it was like to be at this point in his life.

“The first thing I worried about was my people. I had about 30 employees and they all depended on us, so that worried me a lot,” Christina began.

“What happened to us is that they don't think about the employees, so you're the one who says to your employees, 'They voted us out, they fired me, we're all out,'” he continued.

“I felt like a bad person,” he said.

“I asked the person who let me know, 'Are you firing me?' I was like, 'Who says? I'm not going to do anything special for this chain.'” he recalled.

“My husband and I got in the car and went to a bar, and we ordered two martinis, and we looked at each other, and I was like, 'What happened there? What was that?' Because we still don't know what happened in the bar because we can't believe it.

“I am 63 years old, which means that after giving my life to them, I have only 2 years to retire with dignity with a good party, with me my staff, my family, they are not even waiting for those 2. For years to do what they want, it's pretty ugly,” he noted.

Christina explained that depression hit her after a few months. “The depression wasn't due to ego issues or problems not being on a TV show. I've been working since I was 16, and I wasn't just sitting at home doing nothing.”

Saralegui stated that she never crossed her mind to work again, but Telemundo invited her, however, the project did not last long.

“Telemundo invited me, this other network. I am very loyal and would not have gone to work for anyone but my network. I went to Telemundo and the show lasted for 1 year.

“Do I need to say why it lasted 1 year? “I felt like a husband-beater because I couldn't find myself,” she said.
