WhatsApp: How to search messages by date

New search by date includes a calendar. (share)

WhatsApp now has a feature that makes it easy to search messages by date. This adds a plus as there is already an option to search by words.

New functionality Share it It also incorporates a calendar so that you can easily find all the messages sent on a given day in a given chat.

This feature is available in mobile and web versions.

  1. Open the chat you want to search.
  2. Tap the chat name, then tap 'Search'.
  3. Tap the Calendar icon.
  4. Select the date you want to search.
  5. Tap on 'Search'.

  3. Enter the word or phrase you are looking for in the search field.
  4. Select 'Search'.

If you can't find WhatsApp message, you can try some of the following solutions:

  • Search the full application: Go to the main WhatsApp screen and use the general search to find messages in all conversations.
  • Check backups: If you have created backups, you can restore the most recent one to recover deleted messages.
  • Check the archived files: Make sure the conversation is not archived.
  • Ask the sender: Request the sender to resend the message you are looking for.
Always try to create backup copies to restore your messages. (share)

Follow these steps to copy your WhatsApp chats:

On Android:

  1. Open WhatsApp and tap on the three dots in the top right corner.
  2. Select 'Settings' and 'Chats'.
  3. Tap on 'Chat Backup'.
  4. Set the frequency of backups (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.).
  5. Choose a Google Account to save copies to Google Drive.
  6. Tap 'Save' to take an instant backup.

On the iPhone:

  1. Open WhatsApp and tap on 'Settings' in the lower right corner.
  2. Select 'Chats'.
  3. Tap on 'Chat Backup'.
  4. Set the frequency of backups (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.).
  5. Select 'Backup Now' to create an instant backup.
  6. Make sure iCloud is turned on and you have enough space on your iCloud account.

Follow these steps according to the operating system you are using:

Reset to new device or after re-installation:

On Android:

  1. Install WhatsApp from Google Play Store.
  2. Open WhatsApp and verify your phone number.
  3. WhatsApp will automatically detect the Google Drive backup.
  4. Tap 'Reset' when prompted.
  5. Once the recovery is complete, tap 'Next'.
Backups use data, always use Wi-Fi connection to perform them. (illustrative image information)

On the iPhone:

  1. Install WhatsApp from App Store.
  2. Open WhatsApp and verify your phone number.
  3. WhatsApp will automatically detect the iCloud backup.
  4. Tap on 'Reset Chat History'.
  5. Wait for the process to complete and tap 'Next'.

Backups cannot be viewed directly on services such as Google Drive or iCloud. They can only be retrieved through the WhatsApp app. Make sure to use the same phone number and Google or iCloud account that you used to create the backup.

If the messages are not recovered properly, you can try the following solutions:

  • Verify the account: Make sure you're using the same Google account (for Android) or the same iCloud account (for iPhone) that you used to create the backup.
  • Good internet connection: Make sure you have a stable and strong connection during the recovery process, preferably Wi-Fi.
  • enough space: Check if you have enough storage on your device and your Google Drive/iCloud account.
  • Update WhatsApp: Make sure you are using the latest version of WhatsApp.
  • backup permissions:- On Android, check if WhatsApp has the necessary permissions to access Google Drive. Go to your device Settings > Applications > WhatsApp > Permissions. – On iPhone, make sure WhatsApp can access iCloud in Settings > iCloud [tu nombre] > iCloud > WhatsApp.

Always ensure your backup data is up-to-date and complete before attempting any restore.
