A man travels to Cuba for a family emergency and receives a phone bill of about $3,000

Cuban American used Roaming service On an emergency visit to Cuba, he faced an astronomical phone bill after his trip to the island.

Isidro Abello She was shocked when she received a cell phone bill for nearly $3,000 after taking a trip to Cuba for a family emergency.

Although he was appointed International roaming service With T-Mobile before he left, he had serious connectivity issues on the island and ended up using another cell phone to communicate with his family in the United States.

Upon his return, Isidro discovered that his account reflected huge charges for roaming and the international card he had purchased, totaling more than $2,800.

Furious, he called T-Mobile to dispute the bill, insisting that he not accept a $500 credit offered by the phone company as an initial solution to the problem.

He did not receive a satisfactory response from the company, which continued to collect the bill, until Isidro took the case to the press, specifically to Telemundo 51 To ask for help.

Finally, the man was able to adjust his account to match his regular monthly rate, eliminating the excessive additional fees.

Determined not to face a similar situation in the future, Isidro chose to switch to another telephone operator. “Here, if something goes wrong, you look for another,” he said, feeling relieved that the problem had been solved.

Isidro's case shows the importance of travelers being aware of international roaming costs and always checking the coverage they receive during a trip. Also remember the importance of seeking help and well documenting any disagreements with service providers.
