During a debate in the European Parliament on Joe Biden’s investment, MEP Siegfried Mureșan on Wednesday asked citizens of four European countries, including Romania, to raise the visas required to travel to the United States.

“Today, citizens of Cyprus, Croatia, Bulgaria and Romania must have a visa to enter the United States. We will work with the new US administration to ensure full visa transfer between the United States and the European Union,” the Liberal MEP said.

He said that in the last 4 years under the Trump administration, “tweets have changed official communication between allies” and “attitude has changed long-term policies”, which has been a major challenge to the Atlantic relationship.

“Now that all this is over, I want to be a president of the United States who respects freedom of expression, a president who respects democratic order, an American president who wants a free and strong judiciary, and I want to be clear. Muresan said.

The BNL / EPP MEP said that “the foundations of American democracy and European democracy are the same: respect for existing rules and institutions, respect for international order and respect for our allies.”

“America is restarting. Atlantic relations are resuming. We need to look to the future, but we must also learn from the lessons of recent years. Stay away from hate politics, stay away from populism, stay away from lies. They are dangerous. ”
