(CNN) –– with Celebration This Monday is 100 years of Disney, the walls of Disney Studios operating system The company comes to life in a new short film, “Once Upon a Studio.”
In the 12-minute short, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, with the help of Tinker Bell, lead 543 Disney characters — including villains — to gather for a group photo. Burnie Mattinson An animator with the company for 70 years closes the doors of Disney’s animation studios in Burbank when characters leave.
“Let’s go the whole gang!” says Minnie, and she goes “Yoo-hoo!” She sang and started sending the signal.
Characters from 85 Disney films spanning more than ten decades appear in the short film.
Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel voice the “Frozen” characters Anna and Elsa, respectively, along with Jeremy Irons (Scar from “The Lion King”), Jodie Benson (Ariel from “The Little Mermaid”) and 40 other actors. To Variety, they voiced the project again.
According to producer Brad Simonson, the “Aladdin” Genie, voiced by the late Robin Williams, also appears in the short using some of the actor’s original recordings.
In a touching moment, a frantic Mickey Mouse stands on a sidewalk looking at a portrait of Walt Disney. Mickey took off his hat and paid his respects to the man who made it, saying, “I’ve got to go, but thank you! Let’s get on with the show.”
Outside, Goofy tries to put the camera on top of a ladder, but it falls to the ground and the camera breaks.
As the characters begin to sing “When You Wish Upon a Star” from the 1940 animated classic “Pinocchio,” Cinderella’s fairy godmother waves her wand and sets the cup and camera atop the staircase as the 543 characters finally gather in the photo.
“Thank you to everyone who fantasized with us, laughed with us, dreamed with us,” reads the text at the end of the short.
“Once Upon a Studio” is now available on Disney+.
