Federal agents found the white trailer at an immigration checkpoint in the city of Tuxtla Gutierrez in the southern state of Chiapas, the agency said. It is a statement. Police arrested the driver who tried to cross the road.

Of the 269 migrants found by authorities, almost all were from Guatemala, although three were from El Salvador, three from Ecuador and two from Honduras, the report said. It also said 20 of the passengers were unaccompanied minors.

The migrants were taken to the offices of the National Migration Agency to determine their status.
