In true Real Madrid fashion, Carlo Ancelotti’s men regained their massive victory and qualification in the Copa del Rey Round of 16.
A 2-3 win over a struggling Villarreal ended the Merengue’s run in the last eight of the competition where FC Barcelona already exists.
Vinicius Jnr became man of the match when he launched a full comeback at the La Ceramica Stadium, only to be stopped in the second half of the game.

Real Madrid, who lost the Spanish Super Cup final against Barcelona, went home to Villarreal on the final day of the league campaign where they lost 2-1.
Things didn’t start well for the Meringues in the 4th minute who saw Etienne Capo send the ball over after Thibaut Courtois’ superb right-footed shot.

Spectacular comeback
The turning point came when Carlo Ancelotti sent off Rodrigo and Toni Kroos in the second half. He was replaced by Dani Ceballos and Marco Asensio.
Vinicius Jr started the comeback in the 57th minute after Jorgensen’s humanity temporarily defined the score at 2-1.
Real Madrid didn’t let up and went all out in search of a tie. The ball reached the Villarreal area on 69 minutes, Benzema headed in and Jorgensen saved, but the rebound was left to the delight of Eder Militão, who converted to make it 2-2.
A glorious Vinicius picked up the ball on 86, assisted Asensio, who didn’t give up the ball, sent a diagonal pass into the center of the area and Dani Ceballos slotted the ball beautifully for the final 2-3. The visitors advance to the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey.
