Former Puerto Rican pitcher Pedro Feliciano has died at the age of 45

Former Puerto Rican pitcher for the New York Mets, Peter FelicianoThe 45-year-old passed away Sunday night.

Former player and analyst ESPN, Eduardo Pérez, was the first to report the news through social networks.

A left-handed pitcher, Feliciano had his best moments with the Mets between 2006 and 2010, leading the national league between pitchers for three consecutive seasons. It was recorded as 86, 88 and 92 from 2008-10 respectively.

His 344 appearances between 2007 and 2010 were a major league record. In 2008 he was featured in 36 consecutive games, usually in left-handed and left-handed situations. Hence, he earned the nickname ‘Perpetual Petro’ in the New York media.

He was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 31st round of the 1995 draft. After seven years in minor leagues with Los Angeles, Cincinnati and Detroit, he rose to prominence with the Mets in 2002, with whom he played his entire MLB career.
