The U.S. Air Force says the mother began to have problems when the plane was flying at an altitude of more than 8,534 meters, usually due to low air pressure.

A tweet from the Air Mobility Command’s official account said: United Nations.

As the plane landed on the Rammstein site, crews from the 86th Air Force Medical Corps helped deliver the baby in C-17’s cargo bay. The mother and baby were taken to a nearby medical center and are in good condition.

General Hong Taylor told reporters at the Pentagon on Saturday that C-17s were moving from an airport in Qatar to Germany to facilitate the stay of people at the Qatar base. .

On Friday, U.S. military evacuation flights from the Afghan capital were blocked for nearly eight hours as the waiting area at a U.S. military base in Qatar was filled, officials said.

Brigadier General Josh Olsen told CNN on Saturday that the Rammstein site has a capacity of 5,000 people, but the additional facilities under construction could accommodate 7,500 by Sunday afternoon.

On August 15, 2021, the evacuees gathered on a US Air Force C-17 Globemaster III transport plane on a flight from Kabul, Qatar to Qatar.

Thousands of people were evacuated

Olson said he expects the exits to stay in the basement for 48 to 72 hours. The US agreement with Germany states that they must not stay longer than 10 days.

Since the end of July, 22,000 people have been evicted, General Taylor said. Of these, 17,000 have been evicted since August 14.

On Friday, the Air Force recorded a record number of people boarding one of its C-17 aircraft from Afghanistan.

The Air Force said the August 15 flight had initially loaded 640 people, while the Air Mobility Command tweeted that there were actually 823 people on board. The initial number of 183 children on board was not included.

CNN’s Attica Subert and Ellie Kaufman contributed to the report.
