The Zacatecan Council of Science, Technology and Innovation (Cozcyt) opened the call to participate in the fifth edition of the Science Clubs 2021, an educational proposal to bring young people closer to science and technology during the next summer.

The Director of Diffusion and Dissemination, Carlos Iván Cabrera, announced that the themes of the four virtual courses are: Science in the face of climate change, Experimental nuclear physics, Basic mechatronic engineering and Atmospheric Sciences: know our atmosphere.

By inviting youth to participate in the meeting, which will take place from August 2 to 6, he highlighted the international quality of the speakers, doctoral students with scholarships abroad by the National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt) and Cozcyt in the Netherlands, France, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

The state official indicated that the scholarship recipients will give courses in their area of ​​specialization, to repay their state for the support received to train in first world countries and obtain an education of the highest quality and global competitiveness.

At 10:00 am, the course will begin by Claudia Yadira Muñoz Moreno, PhD in Biotechnology at the University of Groningen, in the Netherlands, who will teach the topic Science in the face of Climate Change, with the purpose of explaining the role of science in understanding this phenomenon.

At the same time, Anahí Segovia Miranda, PhD student in Nuclear Physics at the University of Paris-Saclay, will give the course Experimental Nuclear Physics, which seeks to bring youth closer to particle accelerators, lasers and the production of radioactive and ion beams by laser resonance.

Marco Alexis Hernández Arroyo, student of the Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering, at the University of Bristol, in the United Kingdom, at 12:00 hours, will develop the topic Basic mechatronics engineering, which is an introduction to mechatronic systems and reading of electrical circuits / electronic

The fourth alternative will be headed by Leonardo Quirino Olvera, a Master’s student in Climate Sciences at Bern University, Switzerland, entitled Atmospheric Sciences: know our atmosphere, which will refer to the different disciplines that make up the scientific investigation of the atmosphere, and will be carried out at noon.

Cabrera added that the courses are free and those interested in participating must pre-register on the web www.cozcyt.gob.mx until Sunday, July 25, from whose applicants a selection will be made, which will be announced the day after their personal email and will be asked to meet other requirements.
