YouTuber and his wife, known as “Walty’s of Rhodes”, are accused of tax evasion.

Considered the first case of tax evasion against “YouTuber” and “Influencer”. Department of Justicea, Domingo Emanuelle and Secretary of the Treasury Francisco Pares announced on Wednesday that they would file 14 charges. Waltham Santos Flores, known on social media as “Waltz of Rhodes”, and his wife, Arlene Jimenez RodriguezFor failing to pay $ 900,000 in contributions.

According to the Treasury, Santos Flores is owned by two companies registered with the State Department. They failed to report $ 1.8 million in revenue to the government.

Pares described the case as “very pathetic and shameful”. Santos Flores owns a workshop in the municipality of Citra, where he modifies Jeep-type off-road vehicles. When asked about the origins of tax evasion, the official declined to comment because this is an ongoing investigation.

In particular, the couple has been accused of violating Section 6030.16 of the Inland Revenue Code, which alleges submission of forms, affidavits and fraudulent claims.

San Juan’s first instance court judge Raisa Kazika determined the reason for the arrest for all charges against the couple.

Defendants’ defense stated that at this point in the proceedings both parties agreed to the decision and they imposed a total bond of $ 80,000, which was deferred by the pre-trial service plan.

Both will face up to eight years in prison, the judge said. The preliminary hearing was adjourned to April 22.
