Paris Hilton responds to ‘cruel’ comments about her baby

(CNN) — Paris Hilton responds to comments about a photo of her 8-month-old son, Phoenix Barron.

Hilton recently posted photos of her baby with husband Carter Rhee on Instagram. They were visiting New York City and some commented that their baby’s head was too big.

Hilton responded that his “Angel is perfectly healthy” and “has a big brain.”

In a later Instagram Story, Hilton wrote, “When a life is in the spotlight, comments are inevitable, but it’s unacceptable that they target my son or anyone else.”

He continued, “This hurts me more deeply than words can express. I have worked hard to foster an environment of love, respect and acceptance, and I expect the same in return.”

Hilton added: “If I don’t post pictures of my baby, people think I’m not a good mother, and if I post them, there are some who are cruel and hateful. I’m a proud working mum and my baby is absolutely healthy, adorable and an angel.”

And he concluded his note with a plea for mercy.

“I’ve dreamed of being a mother for as long as I can remember,” Hilton wrote. “Every day with him is a reminder of what really matters. It’s hard to imagine that there are people in the world who attack innocence like this. I hope people treat each other with more kindness and compassion.”
