More than 3,000 flights were canceled in the United States over the weekend

(CNN) – At least 916 flights were canceled across the United States this Sunday, according to flight surveillance website FlightAware.

Delta Airlines alone canceled at least 248 flights this Sunday. United Airlines canceled 90 flights and American Airlines 96 flights.

In a statement to CNN, Delta said, “Various factors continue to affect our operations, including air traffic control, weather and unplanned flight crews.

CNN approached the United States and the United States to comment on the cancellation of the flight, but did not immediately respond.

Newark Liberty International Airport and Hartfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport bore the brunt of the cancellation.

In the United States it was canceled on a hectic weekend. According to Flight Aware, 1,473 flights were canceled on Friday and 858 on Saturday. As a result, 3,247 flights were canceled this weekend.

On Friday, the US Transportation Authority (TSA) recorded the highest number of checkpoints since Sunday after Thanksgiving 2021, with CNN previously reporting that 2,438,784 people checked in at security checkpoints at airports across the country.

The TSA said 2,173,292 people were screened at airport checkpoints on Saturday.
