Hernani is completing the renovation of the Sandiusteria space

Yesterday, the Hernani City Council showed the media the profound renovation that the old Assembly Hall in Sandiustre has undergone. Improvements focused on increasing natural light and sound insulation.

As of this month, it will begin to host different uses, which is why the city's mayor, Xabier Lertxundi, has confirmed that the Sandustieri is no longer an auditorium, but has become a cultural space.

“Sandiusteri was a little-used room,” the mayor recalls. Therefore, redefinition and redesign works were carried out to increase use and “cover other needs that exist in the municipality.”

Some uses will be daily. In fact, Hernaniko Udal Musika Eskola will be teaching classes starting February 19 in the two classrooms located in Sandustre.

Dance group Ttarla will also see its location relocated to Sandewisteri, where it will have a “proper dance space”.

On the ground floor, four rehearsal rooms have been created for musical groups. It must be booked in advance. Bookings will be managed from Biteri.

In addition, Sandiusterri will also have a multifunctional room. It seats 80 people and is ideal for small-sized shows. This new space will allow the release of Biteri Kultur Etxea.

Culture Consultant, Aitor Huesi, announced that open days will be held to show the Sandustieri space to clients on February 27 and to the citizens of Hernani on February 28. On this day residents can choose to go at 12:30 PM or 6:00 PM. Groups will consist of 20 people and it will be necessary to register in advance (943 552 962 or [email protected]).
