Google A search engine was launched this Wednesday Androids With the aim of finding more information about a category in photos, videos, text or websites without having to type.

The company has named this new functionality Enhanced Artificial intelligence (IA) “Circle of Search”.

Currently, this feature is only available for the latest Google smartphone models. Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Proand a new series of three models Galaxy S24.

“Now, with a simple movement, you can intuitively select what each person is most interested in (circling, underlining, writing or tapping) to get more information about where the user is on the screen,” the company notes. Indicates that responses can be received in any language the phone is configured with.

This function is capable of isolating what the user is interested in – and what they point to – from the rest of the image and text, without the need to switch applications.

Meanwhile, if a user hovers over a dress they see in an Instagram photo on their screen, the search engine will display information such as where they can buy the item. And if the user wants more information, they can ask other specific questions.

Google, which launched its Internet search engine in the late 1990s, has for some time been betting on a number of searches powered by AI, such as using a smartphone camera to tell how often to water a plant.
