However, the Milky Way has also turned festive this year NASA has released an image and animation of a nebula that looks like a cosmic Christmas tree.
According to NASA, this is also known as a new image of NGC 2264 The “Christmas Tree Cluster” is made up of a collection of young stars, between one and five million years old. Additionally, it is located about 2,500 light-years away from Earth.

Additionally, They made it clear that the color image enhances the unity of the Christmas tree through color and rotation options. In the shared animation you can see the blue and white lights, which are young stars emitting X-rays detected by NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory.
In addition, a gas is shown in green in the nebula, which resembles the “pine needles” of a tree. Also, the photo was rotated about 160 degrees clockwise to make the tree top appear at the top of the image.
Although this image was edited by NASA scientists, it is worth noting that the image was taken by its Chandra observatory. The space telescope is designed to detect X-ray emission from the most visible parts of the universe, such as supernovae, galaxies and material around black holes.
