Daniel Ortega’s dictatorship announced this December 4 the recall of Nicaragua’s ambassador to Argentina, Carlos Midens, in anticipation of the upcoming inauguration of the South American country’s new president, Javier Millay.

Millay is a far-right politician who unabashedly questions socialist regimes like Ortega’s.

“In the face of the installation and takeover of a new government in the Republic of Argentina, the inauguration on December 10 and the continuous statements and revelations of the new rulers, the Government of Unity and National Reconciliation of Nicaragua has proceeded to recall its ambassador, co-author and communicator, Carlos Maitens,” Foreign Minister Denis Moncada said. A signed press release said.

The order will take effect immediately before Miley takes office on Dec. 10, the memo added.

Officials appointed by Miley said they excluded Ortega and the presidents of Cuba, Venezuela and Iran from invitations to the inauguration.

Miley also said he would not promote “relationships with communists, with Cuba, with Venezuela, with North Korea, or with Nicaragua, or with China.”

Ortega and Murillo congratulated Mili

On Sunday, November 19, Ortega and his wife and co-ruler, Rosario Murillo, sent their congratulations to the Argentine people and congratulated the new president in an official message, after Javier Millay’s victory in Argentina was confirmed in the second round.

“In correspondence with the Argentine people’s decision to elect their president, we congratulate President-elect Javier Millay, with our best wishes for the well-being of the noble Argentine families. In the spirit of our heroes who always give strength to fight, pass and keep peace, we greet you with affection and feelings of brotherhood in our great country.” According to the news.
