David Benavides vs. Demetrius Andrade live results and analysis

The ‘Mexican Monster’ is favored to defeat former champion Demetrius ‘Boo Boo’ Andrade at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

He Former super middleweight champion David Benavides Two will face the division champion Demetrius Andrade Saturday night at the Michelop Ultra Arena in Las Vegas with a potential fight against 168-pound champion Canelo Alvarez.

Benavides (27-0, 23 KOs), 26, is coming off a unanimous decision win over Caleb Mills in March. He has won seven of his last 10 fights by knockout. Benavidez is looking for a mega fight against Alvarez and a win on Saturday could be just what he needs. But Benavidez didn’t take Andrade lightly.

“He’s not an easy opponent. He’s very technical,” Benavidez said during a press conference Tuesday in Los Angeles. “He’s very good defensively. But I always find a way to win. I’m going to find a way to beat him.”

Andrade (32-0, 19 KOs), 35, has never fought an elite fighter like Benavidez. His best wins are against Maciej Sulecki in 2019 and Liam Williams in 2021. He has been inactive recently and this fight will be his second in the last two years.

“I’ve fought every style that’s out there today,” Andrade said during a recent training session in San Carlos, California. “I’ve got to go in, find their weakness and figure out what’s going to work.”

“I don’t know his strengths until I get there, but watching him, he wants to beat his opponents. That’s really all I see … I’m going to expose his weaknesses.”
