The Romanian documentary “Collective”, directed by Alexander Nanov, is about the horrific fire at the Bucharest Club in 2015 of the same name, in which dozens of people lost their lives and won the award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Romania’s nomination for the 2021 Oscars was nominated by the National Cinematography Center for “Joint International Film” in the “Best Foreign Film” category. This is the first time Romania’s proposal has been nominated for a documentary in the US Film Academy Awards.

Chinese-born director Chloe Zhao’s play “Nomlandland” has been named the best film of 2020 by some of America’s most important critics, the DPA said on Sunday.

The National Association of Film Critics (NSFC) in the United States made the announcement on Twitter on Saturday.

In addition to the Best Picture trophy, “Nomlandland” won three awards for Best Director, Best Cinematography and Best Actress.

In ‘Nomlandland’, 63-year-old American actress Frances McDormand plays a woman who turns into a kind of nomad today, turning her truck into a mobile home and traveling in a caravan with other guys. It goes through the U.S. West after the economic downturn in a small town in Nevada.

The Best Actor award went to 68-year-old British Delroy Lindo, who plays a Vietnamese player in Spike Lee’s war drama “Yes 5 Bloods”.

Bulgarian actress Maria Baklova, 24, won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in Sacha Baron Cohen’s “Fight Next Moviefilm”.

American actor Paul Zodiac, 73, won the award for Best Supporting Role in the play “Sound of Metal”.
