The National Police arrested three people in the municipality of Santo Domingo Este, accused of belonging to a gang dedicated to carrying out fraudulent transactions by cloning cards belonging to the beneficiaries of social grant administration programs. (Adess).
They are brothers Augusto Jose and Stanley Augusto Fernandez Mejia, as well as Ramon Antonio de la Cruz de la Cruz.464 PVC plastic cards (blank) and the vehicle carrying them were seized.
The arrest was achieved thanks to the coordinated work of police officers assigned to the Directorate of Central Intelligence (DINTEL) and the High-Tech Crime and Criminal Investigation Department (DICAT).
The three men were arrested while traveling in a 2016 Honda Touring vehicle, gray, license plate PP766305, along Resbaldo Nuevo Street, San Ysidro Sector, for making several fraudulent transactions. 53-07 is a clear violation of the law, causing harm to the Dominican government.
Prisoners will be sent to the Santo Domingo Este Prosecutor’s Office for related legal purposes.
