WWE SmackDown Report 2/9 – Orton, McIntyre et al battle for Elimination Chamber title; Bayley asks Dakota Guy for answers

Triple H enters to start SmackDown. General managers Adam Pearce and Nick Altice meet him in the ring. The King of Kings promises that the road to WrestleMania XL is blazing after what happened yesterday. “A lot of people in WWE don't know their role, and they try to exercise power that doesn't belong to them. But there's only one person making these decisions, and they're watching.




Triple H reconfirms Cody Rhodes against Roman Reigns for WrestleMania XL. Nick Aldis lands. The General Manager of SmackDown confirms the Elimination Chamber match to determine the challenger for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XL. Adam Pearce confirms the twelve names that will compete in the coming weeks at Elimination Chamber: Randy Orton, Bobby Lashley, Bronson Reed, Ivar, Kevin Owens, Drew McIntyre, Logan Paul, Sami Zayn, AJ Styles, Dominic Mysterio, The Miz, LA Knight. DREW McIntyre is on SmackDown! Scott thanks the public for speaking to their pockets by making his “Anti CM Punk” t-shirt a top seller on WWEShop. McIntyre promises to start tonight on his road to a title that has been virtually unbeatable in the past. AJ Styles enters the arena as his opponent. LA Knight approaches the commentary table for the first match of the night.

Drew McIntyre defeated AJ Styles after a distraction from LA Knight to qualify for the Elimination Chamber to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania.

Bianca Belaire defeated “Michin” Mia Yim to qualify for the Elimination Chamber to challenge for the Women's Championship in Wrestling.

Backstage, Triple H talks to Braun Breaker, who is undecided on which brand to return to. Paul Heyman comes in and tells Hunter that Roman Reigns and Rock will be on the show next week.

Bayley enters the ring. The women's title challenger believes she deserves the damage done to CTRL's betrayal for deceiving the public. “Damage CTRL is my family, and you've seen how many times I root on myself. “I thought they'd be happy with me after winning the Royal Rumble, but that's not the case.” Dakota Kai walks in, worried about what happened last week. She affirms her loyalty to “what Bayley created” and makes it clear that Ayo was a great partner until Asuka and Kairi Sane showed up. The role model doubts her words, and Kai assures her that he wouldn't be in WWE if it weren't for her. Alas Skye and The Kabuki Warriors launch an ambush! Dakota threatens to blow the whistle on Bayley, but hits the Japanese and chases them out of the ring.

British Strongstyle (Tyler Pate and Pete Dunne) defeated #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) to challenge for the Undisputed Tag Team Championship.




Randy Orton defeated Sami Zayn to qualify for the Elimination Chamber to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship. After the fight McIntyre comes out and confronts Orton.
