WWE Rejects Edge’s Offer to Stay With Company – News and Results Wrestling WWE Raw, Smackdown, NXT, AEW – PRWrestling

Based on conversations between the two companies, multiple sources continue to report how Edge is expected to join AEW.




A new report from PWtorch Edge offered WWE what it needed to do to retain his services, but WWE refused to honor his request.

This fueled a belief within WWE that Edge was going to AEW and knew what AEW would or could offer him, possibly based on conversations about AEW pay with other wrestlers of his star power, or someone close to him. It’s worth noting that WWE officials aren’t worried about the possibility of Edge ending up in AEW. WWE celebrated Edge’s 25th anniversary last Friday on SmackDown from Toronto because he is so beloved within the company.

Additionally, WWE is always looking for ways to create special segments and episodes, and Friday’s Smackdown was an opportunity to spotlight Edge in a positive way. WWE Officials First Edge Vs. Sheamus says they should go with another main event.

AEW president Tony Khan is a big fan Rated R Superstar I definitely see value in adding him to the roster as a fighter or any other role.

Edge recently confirmed that his WWE contract expires at the end of September, but Friday’s fight with Sheamus is the last fight on the contract. It is not yet known if any non-compete clauses are included in the agreement.
