The Altafulla City Council has started this week the works that will enable a new space for the Municipal Archive in the old hexagonal building adjacent to the old Teresa Manero schools.
The new dependencies of the file, with an area of about 150 m2 , they will gather the documentation that is currently kept in the deposit located in Carrer del Vinyet, in the facilities of the Municipal Library.
These works will be carried out in two phases with a total investment of 78,145.08 euros. In the first one, the space in which the works will focus with masonry work, various installations, carpentry and closings will be adapted, with an investment of 48,145.08 (with VAT included); and in a second phase, the work will focus on the acquisition of filing cabinets and the completion of finishes. This second phase has an investment of 30,000 euros (with VAT included).
The works of the first phase are expected to finish at the end of this month of January. Prior to the transfer of the documentation that is kept in the deposit located in the Library, an environmental disinfection of the current space on Vinyet Street will be carried out, which will be carried out by the company Gestior Quimics SL.
This disinfection It consists of a nebulization directed at boxes and shelves, and is part of the necessary treatment to preserve the archive’s bottom in optimal conditions to ensure its conservation and prevent its deterioration in the future.
