With the new president, the Puerto Rico Economic Development Bank

The Board of Directors of the Economic Development Bank (PDE) of Puerto Rico today approved the appointment of Pedro Pierloi, Governor of Puerto Rico, a renowned manufacturer and financier, as its Chairman.

Alemasi has a diverse professional experience, and this is the first time a manufacturer has occupied the executive chair of BDE. He holds honors degrees from the University of Puerto Rico, a Masters Degree in Industrial Administration from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, and a degree in Entrepreneurship and Business from Bobson College. In addition, he has over 20 years of experience in operations management, manufacturing, management and finance at companies such as American Tools, Toshiba, Baxter Healthcare, 3M Caribbean and Pepsi, where he has served as General Manager and Director of Finance and Operations.

In 2019, the entrepreneur became chairman and founder of SJT Manufacturing, which focused on the production and distribution of precision metal parts, exported to multinational companies worldwide.

Alemasi also serves as the director of the Puerto Rico Convention Center Commission District Board of Directors, which is part of the decision-making and development of projects for improvements in the Urban Bay, Puerto Rico Coliseum and the conference district.

The BDE’s nine – member board of directors is chaired by the Financial Advisory Commission and the financial institution’s managing director, Lcdo. Omar Murrero.
