These are the new 14 Nicaraguans who were Spanish nationalized

A new group of 14 Nicaraguans who had been stripped of their nationality and rendered stateless by the regimes of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo were nationalized by the Spanish government. The official list of guys who will now join the first group of 14 nationalized was released this Wednesday. There are already 28 stateless persons with this nationality.

On February 9, the regime deported 222 political prisoners to the United States and revoked their nationality the same day. The group was joined by another 94 comrades, who on February 15 were stripped of their nationality, declared “fugitives from justice” and ordered to confiscate their assets in Nicaragua.

Spain was the first country to grant citizenship to Nicaraguans exiled to the United States. Later, teams from Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia and Brazil joined. The Spanish government grants nationality under a letter of naturalization, an exceptional process that prevents people from prolonging their precarious situation.

The director of Unamos, Hector Mairena, thanked the Spanish government for its nationalism.

“Starting today I publicly thank the Spanish government, President Pedro Sánchez, for granting Spanish citizenship to me and other compatriots deprived of Nicaragua by the Ortega dictatorship,” he wrote on Twitter.

Along the same lines, sociologist Cuatra expressed his “deep gratitude to the government and people of Spain for granting nationality to Nicaraguans who were deprived of our original nation.”
