The strange taste of the new Pepsi 1:03

(CNN Español) – We don’t know who comes up with these ideas, but it’s definitely good news for fans of marshmallows.

Pepsi s Peeps (Popular brand of marshmallows) teamed up to create a new drink that combines extra sweet flavors, The two companies announced. The new cola, called Pepsi x Peeps, blends the flavor of regular Pepsi with that of marshmallow. That makes it the perfect thirst quenching mix for spring, in the words of the two brands. The main question here is, is this combination of flavors catching your eye?

Although the company has been around for a long time, this is the first time Pepsi has used marshmallows in their cola, which often push the seasonal flavors to make a buzz for its brand. In winter 2020, the brand launched Pepsi drinks with hot chocolate and apple pie to celebrate the holidays.

Todd Kaplan, Vice President of Marketing at Pepsi, told CNN Business that Pepsi has reached out to Peeps to collaborate on a flavor inspired by spring. He added that the group aims to provide a moment of joy after the difficult year 2020.

Taste is really important to customers. They want sweetness and they want to connect with things emotionally. Peeps has its own subculture that we wanted to capitalize on.
