The green zone request for Quibo is due to several directives from the neighborhood council. Because this inauguration comes in response to a long series of community work.

Solar lights, plants with low water consumption and organic décor with high resistance to sunlight, these are some of the characteristics of the new El Coipo plaza. This dream was a great desire of the Coipina community, which for years requested the creation of a community space, which was inaugurated last Monday the 12th with the entire sector community.

The new El Coipo arena has received municipal funding of approximately 15 million pesos and is matched with a green area with modular games and exercise machines. This proposal is part of an action plan developed by the municipality called “Sustainable Community Spaces”, which proposes to increase the energy efficiency of consumption, considering vegetation that adapts to the water reality of Mont Patria; Lighting units with a photovoltaic system and an organic decor that does not require irrigation (unlike traditional grass).

The opening day brought together the entire Coipina community, especially the leaders of the neighborhood association, the local sports team and the APR of the sector; Local talent was present at the event with two beautiful singing and dancing performances.

Regarding this, City Mayor Cristian Herrera Peña highlights the work done by the municipal administration, describing the fulfillment of the commitment to the Quibena community, “We are happy to create initiatives that advance in different sectors of our community. We promised that we would do so. We are touring the area to deliver Public spaces. We are in El Quibo, a space that costs nearly 15 million pesos, with only the municipal resources of lighting, children's toys, exercise machines and the truth, very happy with the community. We have been working on this safe spaces policy, and today we reach remote locations like this Last week they held a lovely community activity and today this enhances their meeting spaces.

From the local leadership, Oscar Cortes, President of the District Neighborhood Association, commented with pride on the work on this project, a proposal that was completed today with this inauguration, “This project has been going on for some time, it was the previous leaders who presented it, it was the desire of the community “We did not have an entertainment place for our children or adults to come, sit and rest in good health. Today we can be happy with this square.”

The community was the first to receive this new work, with both adults and children able to enjoy the various tools, rest benches, modular toys and exercise machines. Nayareth Vega, a young mother in the sector, commented on her impression of the new “sustainable community space”, saying: “For years we have been waiting for a square in the city, here there are no big games for the little ones, we have some games.” Wooden toys, but they are risky; Many children came here to play, we came at night and the lights are excellent. I also thank the municipality for its contribution to this beautiful square.

In this way, the El Quipo community celebrates a new achievement, the inauguration of a new meeting place, a plaza that encourages physical activity, with play elements for children and with a lively vision that matches the new reality in the valleys. .
