The 10 best beaches in the world in 2023, according to Tripadvisor

(CNN) — Stretching on the best beach in the world is not easy. Baía do Sancho is only accessible by boat or by stairs down steep cliffs to the golden sands.

The beach is located in the archipelago of Fernando de Noronha, located in the province of Pernambuco, 354 kilometers from the main coast of Brazil. Visitors arrive to the islands by plane or boat.

According to a new ranking from Tripadvisor, getting there is an effort, but awaits the hardy traveler. Baía do Sancho is the best beach in the world in 2023, according to the annual list The best beaches in the world of the travel website published this Tuesday.

Last year, Baía do Sancho ranked 7th on the list.

The list of beaches is part of the TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards, which are determined from millions of comments submitted by travelers throughout 2022.

TripAdvisor considers the quality and quantity of reviews when determining reviews.

The rest of the best beaches

The Caribbean has three destinations in the top 10 for 2023, including No. 2, Eagle Beach in Aruba; 5th, in Grace Bay Beach, Turks and Caicos; and on the 9th, Varadero Beach in Cuba. Last year, Grace Bay and Varadero beaches took first and second place respectively. Eagle Beach was #5 in 2022.

There is also an American beach on the top 10 list: Kaanapali Beach in Maui, at number 10. The beach topped a separate list of TripAdvisor’s 10 Best Beaches in America for 2023. Ganaballi missed the top 10 globally. list in 2022 and was 17th on the US list last year.

Located on the west coast of the island, Kaanapali has three miles of white sand and a popular cliff diving ritual at Puu Kega or Black Rock. Each evening at sunset, a diver lights torches on the cliff and dives off the cliff to reenact the feat of King Kahekili of Maui.

Europe has three beaches in the top 10 for 2023: Reynisfjara beach in Vik (Iceland) at number 4; Praia da Falesia in Olhos de Agua, Portugal on the 6th; and Italy’s Spiaggia dei Conigili, 8. Only three appear in 2022’s top 10: Spiaggia dei Conigili in Sicily, which was 10th that year.

Australia is one of the top 10, with Cable Beach in Broome in the Kimberley region of Western Australia at number 3. One Most Wanted Experiences Take a sunset camel ride along this 22-km stretch of Indian Ocean coastline from Broome. Cable Beach was ranked 11th in the world last year.

Number 7 Radhanagar Beach on Havelock Island (Swarak Dweep) in Andaman represents India in the list. Coast drops one position from 6th place in 2022.

The 10 best beaches in the US in 2023, according to Tripadvisor

There is a separate list for American beaches on Tripadvisor.

In the United States, Hawaii stands out the most, with three beaches in the top 10, while Florida and California each have two. Georgia, Oregon, and Maine beaches also make the top 10 on TripAdvisor.
