TEC will announce the results of Costa Rica’s second mission into space

On Tuesday, March 21, the Tecnológico de Costa Rica (TEC) plans to publish the results of Costa Rica’s second mission into space, as reported via its Facebook account.

“On Tuesday the results of the second space mission will be presented in Costa Rica. At 11:30 am, in the auditorium on the first floor of Electronica,” the foundation stated.

According to TEC, this mission was intended to investigate and treat the disease that threatens banana plantations.

The mission aimed not only to investigate fungi that threaten bananas, but also to investigate fungi that would treat these plantations.

Last November, the first stage of the Costa Rican space mission Project MUSA was sent into space to test the technology used in the microgravity study of the interaction between the fungus that causes Panama disease—a disease that threatens everyone’s banana plantations—and its antidote.

The activity will show how the various systems of the device responded to the flight and how this information will work towards the ultimate goal, which is to send the experiment to the International Space Station (ISS).
