Science, wine and music come together for the last time this year to celebrate a new edition of ‘A toast to Science’. The place chosen for this activity of the Municipal School of Young Scientists, belonging to the Fundación Universidad Sociedad de la UEx, is the Paseo del Río de Pinofranqueado (Cáceres). It will take place this Sunday, November 14, starting at 12 noon.

A toast to science is developed with the successive intercalation of scientific pills, jazz standards and wine tastings. The attending public will know first-hand the best wines of the Ribera del Guadiana wine and cava route (and musts for the youngest) and their production processes, they will learn to taste them from the hand of a professional expert, with the visual phases , olfactory and tasting.

On the other hand, you will know the discipline of Jazz listening to standards and knowing the historical period in which each of the jazz styles arises, the social and historical context of the time. And, as a unifying element of all the above, 10 minute science pills, these will include descriptive talk and quick experiments with adults and young people.

The artistic part will be performed by the Jazz group ‘Just Friends Just Ensemble’; and the gastronomic will be offered by the Ribera del Guadiana Wine and Cava Route.

The objective of this initiative is to attract the general public to science through recreational activities such as wine tasting and musical performances. In addition, it is intended to connect with entities that work in the territory to make them aware of the necessary commitment to science and technology.
