Swedish dark alternative metal band Outshine has released its new music video, “Emptiness Inside”, continuing an ambitious visual storyline linked to the group’s recently launched album, Truthsayer. The video, directed by Kenny Boufadene of Studio Meltdown in Uddebo, Sweden, marks the third chapter in a four-part narrative series that has been unfolding through the band’s latest singles.
The release follows the launch of Truthsayer on 26 June 2026 via Eclipse Records and forms a key part of the band’s promotional campaign for the album. Outshine, which has built a reputation for blending atmospheric rock and metal influences with darker thematic elements, uses the new video to expand upon concepts introduced in earlier singles “Enough” and “You Are Not Alone”.
Boufadene, known for his visual work with acts including Ice Age, Manimal and We Are The Castalyst, brings a cinematic approach to the production. The video combines stark imagery with the melancholic atmosphere that has become a defining characteristic of the band’s sound and artistic identity.
At the centre of the story is Reverend Boman, a recurring character first introduced during a previous album cycle. The latest instalment follows his ongoing journey through a narrative that explores social division, isolation and the psychological effects of conflict within modern society.
The storyline acts as an allegory for contemporary societal fractures, examining the emotional burden placed on ordinary people when confronted with forces that create division and uncertainty. According to the band, the visual narrative captures a critical moment in which the central character stands on the edge of psychological collapse while confronting these challenges.
As the story unfolds, viewers are drawn into a futuristic setting where themes of unity and collective awareness emerge. The video gradually shifts from depicting isolation and fragmentation to presenting a broader message centred on shared purpose and social connection. By its conclusion, the narrative suggests that meaningful change becomes possible when individuals come together in pursuit of common goals.
The concept of the “Truthsayer” serves as a central theme throughout the project. Within the storyline, those who resist division and seek greater understanding become part of a growing movement, reinforcing the album’s overarching message that strength is found through collective action rather than individual isolation.
The release also shines a spotlight on Truthsayer, a nine-track album that showcases Outshine’s blend of dark alternative metal, melodic rock and atmospheric soundscapes. The record features layered guitar work, haunting keyboard arrangements, powerful rhythms and distinctive vocal performances that together create a sound both heavy and melodic.
Musically, the album balances darker tones with moments of optimism, reflecting many of the themes explored throughout its lyrics and accompanying visual content. Atmospheric keyboard passages and vocal harmonies contribute to the record’s cinematic feel, while dynamic guitar-driven arrangements provide the foundation for its emotional depth.
Lyrically, Truthsayer examines themes of societal conflict, division and resilience. The songs explore the challenges faced by individuals navigating uncertainty while also presenting messages of hope, renewal and transformation. This contrast between darkness and optimism forms a recurring thread throughout the album.
Among the standout tracks are “Enough”, “You Are Not Alone” and “Emptiness Inside”, all of which contribute to the wider narrative being developed through the band’s interconnected music videos. Together, the songs and visuals create a cohesive storytelling experience that extends beyond a traditional album release.
The album artwork, created by founding vocalist Jimmy Boman, further reflects the themes explored across the project. Its imagery mirrors the balance between despair and hope that runs throughout both the music and the accompanying visual productions.
With Truthsayer now available on vinyl and digital platforms, and the release of the third chapter in its visual saga, Outshine continues to expand one of its most ambitious creative projects to date. The launch of “Emptiness Inside” adds another layer to the band’s evolving narrative while reinforcing the themes that define its latest musical era.
