The Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics will convene its latest commission meeting on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, at 9:00 a.m. CST, bringing together state aviation officials and stakeholders to discuss matters relating to Oklahoma’s public airport system and aerospace sector.

The meeting will take place at the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) First Floor Conference Room, located at 200 NE 21st Street in Oklahoma City. Officials confirmed the session will be conducted in accordance with the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act, which requires government meetings to be publicly accessible.

The gathering of the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics Commission is open to members of the public who wish to attend in person. For those unable to travel to the venue, the department has also arranged a livestream to allow wider participation and observation.

Viewers can access the broadcast through the publicly available online stream provided by the department. The meeting will be electronically recorded and audio livestreamed from the Oklahoma City venue.

Officials have advised viewers to ensure that audio settings on their device and the streaming platform are appropriately configured before the broadcast begins.

Oversight of Oklahoma’s aviation infrastructure

The Aeronautics Commission plays a central role in overseeing aviation development across the state. The body is responsible for ensuring that Oklahoma’s aviation infrastructure continues to support economic growth, business connectivity, and regional development.

“The Commission is a seven-member panel appointed by the governor to ensure that the needs of communities and commerce across Oklahoma are met by the state’s system of 108 public airports, and to ensure the viability of our state’s aerospace industry.”

Through its work, the commission supports the development and maintenance of a statewide aviation network that includes 108 public-use airports. These facilities serve both commercial and general aviation operations, providing transport links for businesses, emergency services, and regional communities.

Aerospace is widely regarded as one of Oklahoma’s most important industries, contributing significantly to employment, manufacturing output, and technology development. The commission’s oversight is therefore seen as a key element in sustaining the sector’s competitiveness.

In addition to policy oversight, the commission works closely with state agencies, local authorities and private aviation stakeholders to ensure infrastructure planning aligns with economic and community needs.

Full 2026 meeting calendar confirmed

Alongside announcing the March session, the commission has confirmed the schedule for all of its regular meetings throughout 2026.

The Commission approved the time, date and place for its regularly scheduled meetings for calendar year 2026. The meetings will be held at 9:00 a.m. CST on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, January 21, 2026

  • Wednesday, March 11, 2026

  • Wednesday, May 13, 2026

  • Wednesday, July 15, 2026

  • Wednesday, August 12, 2026

  • Wednesday, October 7, 2026

  • Wednesday, December 9, 2026

These sessions provide an opportunity for commissioners to review aviation policies, funding allocations, and strategic initiatives affecting Oklahoma’s airport system and aerospace sector.

Public transparency is a central feature of the commission’s work. By publishing meeting schedules in advance and enabling livestream access, the department aims to allow residents, businesses and industry representatives to follow developments affecting the state’s aviation network.

Public access and information

Members of the public can attend the March meeting in person at the Oklahoma Department of Transportation conference facility in Oklahoma City. Those joining remotely can view the livestream through the department’s public broadcast channel.

“If you have any questions about Wednesday’s meeting, call the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics at 405-604-6900.”

The upcoming meeting is expected to provide insight into ongoing aviation initiatives and the broader development of Oklahoma’s aerospace industry as the state continues to strengthen its aviation infrastructure and economic position in the sector.
